It is with great pleasure that I invite KBI students to attend the 2008 KBI World Congress and Championships in Mumbai, India from the 6th to the 9th of November, 2008.

Our Grandmaster Richard Chew and I will be committing our full effort to reunite KBI around the world. We have picked this year as it is the 40th year of KBI and it is our Grandmasters 50th birthday. We wish to honour our eternal grandmasters Mr. Chew Choo Soot’s legacy and rebuild our wonderful style to the unified strength that it once was.

This event will be our first step in reuniting our international chief instructors at our inaugural world congress to be held on the 6th of November. This event will consist of an initial KBI direction meeting, followed by Masters & instructor training, a martial arts business seminar and welcome dinner.

The congress will be followed by the championships commencing on Friday the 7th with our children's (13 years & below) events. Saturday and Sunday will be the major championships with our Cadet, Junior, Senior and Veterans divisions. Detailed information including registration forms will be forwarded in June to all attendees.

This is the first KBI World titles which will be held biannually, the next one is scheduled for Australia in 2010 and we are anticipating our 2012 event to be in the United Kingdom which would be wonderful as it is the year of the London Olympics.

Our organizing committee is very busy pre planning this event and we are requesting interested parties please provide us with an expression of interest in attending by the 30th of May. We do not require team numbers at this stage, just a positive response that students will be attending.

At the time of preparing this invite Australia has a team in excess of 20 members that have completed an expression of interest. We have a similar confirmation from U A E. It will be a fantastic event, that will start the rebuilding process that we have all been looking for over the past 11 years since the passing of our founding Grandmaster.
